The Civil Division is a state mandated service of the Sheriff's Office. Its purpose and function is to serve and execute the various legal processes issued not only by and for the several non-criminal courts of the state and its subdivisions, but also for the legal community and the general public, the sworn staff is dedicated to civil enforcement and proper process service.
The Civil Division provides a variety of civil process which includes summons and complaints, subpoenas, small claims, wage garnishments, court ordered restraining orders, etc.
Departmental and divisional policies and procedures are consistent with Idaho State Code. These policies are designed and developed to insure the accurate, expeditious, and judicious service and execution of all matters relating to civil process.
This office only serves and enforces documents in the Bingham County area. This includes the city limits of Blackfoot, Shelley, Firth, Groveland, Pingree, Springfield, Aberdeen and portions of Fort Hall. Please refer to the appropriate Sheriff's Office for service outside of Bingham County.
